You shouldn’t spend a lot of money on your first bike computer. The distance you cover and the speed are what you need to know if you're a beginner. I bought my first gravel bike last summer. I read an article on bikemountain.me and I realized a gravel bike better fits my riding style. I spent $15 on a cheap bike camera with only a few functions. Tbh, I found the cycling app I downloaded on my phone to be of more use than the computer. For now, I am not going to upgrade to a better computer.
