The importance of protein and fiber in your diet
#1
Protein is an important part of a healthy diet. Proteins are made up of chemical 'building blocks' called amino acids. Your body uses amino acids to build and repair muscles and bones and to make hormones and enzymes. They can also be used as an energy source.

Fiber helps regulate the body's use of sugars, helping to keep hunger and blood sugar in check. Children and adults need at least 25 to 35 grams of fiber per day for good health, but most Americans get only about 15 grams a day. Great sources are whole grains, whole fruits and vegetables, legumes, and nuts.

Proteins help increase feelings of fullness and satisfaction after meals, which can prevent overeating and support weight loss or maintenance efforts.

Absolutely, protein and fiber are key parts of a healthy diet. I remember when I started focusing more on my nutrition, I was surprised at how much better I felt by just tweaking these two things. For protein, I've been using an organic grass fed whey protein, and it's been a game-changer for my energy levels and muscle recovery. It's such a clean and effective way to get those amino acids. On the fiber side, I made a conscious effort to add more whole grains, fruits, and veggies into my meals. Simple changes like these can make a big difference. If you're finding it tough to hit those fiber goals, try adding a handful of nuts or legumes to your diet – it really helps!
