I started with some junk steel that Yamaha used for their ATV shipping. The dimensions are about 1 inch by two rectangular material
about .050 inch thick. I practiced up using my TIG welder and managed to contaminate the tip a number of times. Above is the material I cut up to make the stool.
I think it will be a lot better than the old wood stool I was using since this one is stepped. I applied some aluminum diamond plate on the
stepping surfaces. It's very stable. I canted the legs in two dimensions for added stability about 5 degrees or so. I will use the old one by
the lathe to reach stuff in the shelves behind it. It's much easier now to reach now to the top of the mill.
